Why I love Ash Wednesday and the whole season of Lent...

So, Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and it began the season of Lent....and there is just something about it all that I love!

First, I love it because it gives me the hope that spring is probably on it's way! I love spring! I love the new grass, colorful flowers, and the fact that winter is gone!

Second, I love it because it is a gentle reminder to draw near to God and He will draw near to me. It is a time to reflect upon the sacrifice that was made for me. It's a time to embrace new disciplines, new thoughts, new whatever....but "old" has to be turned loose of in order to embrace new....
So today I've been looking at what brings me joy and comfort. I've contemplated if by giving something up, I might share in the discomfort that Christ had when he came to planet Earth. I mean, He had to leave the wonders of Heaven to join us here on Earth!

Ash Wednesday begins the countdown to Easter...
I look forward to remembering His sacrifice for me not just on Easter Sunday....but everyday between now and then!

I may have lost my mind!!!!

So, it's been almost two years since I posted a blog. I went back and read through all of my previous blogs. They were pretty entertaining to me...and they helped me understand why I might not have a huge following! ;)

I have a lot of thoughts on most days...but many of my thoughts make me feel a little crazy...and they might make you tell me that I totally over think many things in my life....today I actually thought of something to blog about...and then I couldn't get back in to my blog!!! Argh!!!!... And now i can't remember what it was!! Argh again!!!!!

So now that I can access it...maybe I'll remember what I was going to rant about....but don't hold your breath!
